Greetings, true believers!

Time for another post. I was thinking the other day about connotations and denotations. As you well know words are rapidly losing their true meanings and being replaced by acronyms and slang. Today I just wanted to address some misused adjectives. Many people use all these words to simply say "very good" when in reality none of them are necessarily positive.
Awesome - causing awe in spectators
Fantastic - of fantasy, unreal, fictional
Unprecedented - hasn't happened before, new
Extraordinary - outside of the ordinary, weird
Incredible - not credible, untrustworthy
The point is that these words aren't synonyms and if we use them properly we can convey a lot more meaning with just one word! I get a little annoyed when people oversimplify the English language because it loses a lot of that depth and uniqueness.

I was also going to endorse a show that I've been watching lately. I'm a big Batman fan so I started watching the new Batman: Brave and the Bold
It's a very enjoyable cartoon show that introduces the viewer to new lesser known characters from the DC Universe. Much like the comic book that it takes it's name from, Batman teams up with a different ally in each episode. Each character is true to their personality established in the DC canon. Also Batman gets pushed out of his comfort zone quite a bit. He even sings in one episode! Well that's just a couple things that were on my mind.

Until next time,

Luck of the Irish

Hey guys,
I just thought I'd weigh in on the Conan situation since I've been a fan for a long time
I've been impressed by Conan's class in handling this debacle but I think that he's overestimating the reputation of the Tonight Show. NBC is still struggling to establish a successful primetime and their now throwing away their best host. Conan has his own style when hosting a talk show and he shouldn't be afraid of leaving the tonight show to host his own unique show. A talent like Conan definitely belongs on primetime. If NBC is not treating him right, I'm sure another network will offer him a primetime slot and more creative control. Bottom line I think Conan would be more successful on FOX which is known for it's strong comedies.

Initiating Post!

Greetings, folks
I'm trying out this whole blog thing because I have another 5 days before classes start and I have nothing better to do. That and the fact that I did this before in high school and I enjoyed it then so why not give it another try.
this last semester has been a crazy one thats for sure. I just lost my car and now I'm trying to find a job within walking distance. Fortunately, God has used all of these changes to remind me of what really matters. I'm looking forward to what he has to teach me this semester.
This blog won't just be about my spiritual thoughts but I also wanna have a place to talk about movies, books, music, witicisms, musings and everyday narratives. Because often the events of our own lives are stranger than fiction!

alright signing off for now,
